[a noise of acknowledgement. the sandwich is half gone, the soup sipped at a bit. he looks back at chuuya]

[ That's around the most he's ever seen Dazai eat, so Chuuya doesn't push it. He shoves the other bag at Dazai.

Obviously they can't source Dazai's usual brand here, but Chuuya did pick the softest ones he could both find and afford. With his new broke status, it's not as nice as he'd get back home but it's nicer than whatever Dazai could manage right now probably. There's several rolls. ]

[he takes the bag with that carefully constructed smile. dazai of an earlier time would be pleased at chuuya bartering everything for him. now it makes him feel a bit insufficient. is there any good he can provide in this place, besides chuuya being his errand boy?]

[he wants chuuya to stay. he won't ask. dazai doesn't trust himself at the moment, with anything. not himself or the knife, nor with chuuya. holding hands the other night was fine as they fell asleep. it wasn't anything entirely unfamiliar, albeit it had been years since they had done so.

[ Pinkie promise. Childish. Dazai is childish sometimes but Chuuya can sense the weird mood. He sighs and holds out his hand expectantly. ]

[ Chuuya rolls his eyes and hooks their pinkies together. Maybe if he indulges Dazai's fake-childishness Dazai will behave for five minutes. ]

[dazai rolls his eyes. it takes a minute, but he loosely wraps his pinkie around chuuya's]

I'm not. Just tired. Is Prince Charming denying Snow White her beauty sleep now? Rude.

If you're talking about eternal rest, then yes. The normal kind, no.

[ He feels stupid as hell as he shakes their hands like this, then pulls away and shoves his hands in his pockets. ]
