[ Chuuya, meanwhile, isn't going to be shifting for his own purposes. No one needs him to be a shadowy monster at this point in time anyway...maybe later. Right now he's examining the shoreline and looking to see if there's any animal tracks for the mutants they're meant to bring in, hoping to find something that they don't need to take down from perfect health. It's not like he minds killing but he suspects Momo would prefer finding something already dying, and that would be easier anyway.
He does glance out to see what Momo is up to a few times. Just keeping an eye on things in case he needs to haul the guy out. ]
[Momo, true to his word, works quickly - once he's got the sample containers filled, he pinches lids closed with his claws and starts to wade back towards shore. After only a few steps, though, his legs bend, his underside brushing against the water's surface before he leaps free from it with a cacophonous splashing, wings unfurling to carry him the rest of the way back to shore.
His landing is fairly neat despite the rush to get out of the water, but as soon as he hits solid ground, he places the vials gently on his pack...and then simply drops onto his belly, his legs poking out at awkward angles around him as he lets out a long, self-soothing chitter.]
Alright, that still sucked. [He takes another few moments lying around before his legs rather abruptly move to pick him up again, shaking himself off like some eldritch horror dog.] But with how much Katalyth I could feel out there, I still think that went better than it would've if I wasn't like this.
Want some water? [ Some...non contaminated water. The stuff he brought. Chuuya offers up one bottle to Momo, looking him over with a critical eye to be sure nothing extra is amiss. The katalyth situation is always worrying, but it doesn't seem like Momo is hallucinating this time? ]
[There's a chitter at that which might be a laugh at the offer of water without stating which kind. At the very least, he does appear to be fine, just perhaps having had to hit the emergency exit button before anything worse happened.]
Sure, I'll take some less spicy water. Though let me switch back first, otherwise I'll probably crush your bottle. [His mandibles are considerably larger than the bottle and would probably take several chunks out of it at best.
Stretching his legs, he then settles again, leaning towards his back limbs and closing his eyes. Unwinding that state from himself, the "release" of his shift, takes a few moments longer than it normally would, but eventually, that snapping, crunching noise that heralds his shifts starts up again, and his human shape emerges back out from under shrivelling exoskeleton.
Straightening up, he takes the offered bottle with a nod of thanks.] The amount of Katalyth nearer the Cenote is crazy. I don't think I could've gone further than I did even in that shape.
[Certainly not through the water, at least. With the larger separation of air approach, maybe.]
